ROSEAU, Dominica – September 22, 2022 – Tickets are now on sale for the 22nd annual World Creole Music Festival (WCMF) October 28-30 in Dominica at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium

One of the most anticipated festivals in the Caribbean, the event celebrates Creole music culture heritage, drawing top musicians from all over the world and featuring the best in Creole music, food, and art. 

This year's lineup features international African superstar Burna Boy and afrobeat artist Omah Lay.

Internationally known for the unique mix of musical performances with the island’s beautiful tropical background, WCMF will feature three days of live music ranging from Cadence-lypso, Kompa, Zouk, Soukous, Bouyon, and Zydeco. 

  • This year’s star-studded lineup includes Shenseea, Kes the Band, Patrice Roberts, Sizzla, Christopher Martin, Dexta Daps, Jocelyn Beroard, Kassav Fame, Chiré LaKay, Admiral T, Haiti K-Dilak, Bedjine, Enposib, and more. 

“We are very excited for World Creole Music Festival’s return to Dominica for the first time since the pandemic,” said Colin Piper, Discover Dominica Authority’s CEO/Director of Tourism. “Dominican culture and language has historical Creole influences, and we are proud to continue celebrating Creole Heritage Month on our island.”

Dominica

Dominica (pronounced Dom-in-EEK-a, and not to be confused with the Dominican Republic) is the youngest Caribbean Island and the last to be colonized, ultimately earning its independence on November 3, 1978. 

Dominica lies south of Guadeloupe and north of Martinique in the Eastern Caribbean. Air travelers can connect to Dominica direct from Miami on American Airlines, and make regional connections from the surrounding hubs of Antigua, Barbados, Guadeloupe, Puerto Rico, St. Maarten, St Lucia, the British Virgin Islands, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.  

If travelling by sea, travelers may connect to Dominica on L’Express des Iles ferry service from Guadeloupe, Martinique, and St. Lucia, and on Val’Ferry from Guadeloupe and Martinique.
