All the world's a stage
And all the men and women merely lawyers;

Toronto, ON… Nightwood Theatre is proud to present the second annual  The 2011 Lawyer Show. This unique event, which will raise vital funds for Nightwood, sees a cast of 35 lawyers on stage performing in William Shakespeare’s comedy, As You Like It. Co-directed by Artistic Director Kelly Thornton and Associate Director Kelly Straughan, Nightwood is thrilled to be partnering with Toronto’s legal community on this annual fundraising initiative.

The Bard’s original pastoral play centers on lovers, Orlando and Rosalind and the exiled court of the usurped Duke as they fend for themselves in the Forest of Arden. Shakespeare’s classic comedy is a series of mistaken identities, romantic pursuits, and outlandish and thrilling hi-jinks. Under Thornton’s direction, As You Like It is set in a contemporary high tech world where a corporate takeover spews these urban misfits into a pastoral setting that forces their awakening. Envisioned in a stylized design, this highly physical interpretation is sure to excite. (Pictured: Daumier's The Lawyers)

Aside from money raised from ticket sales, funds will also be generated from sponsorships, program ads and a silent auction. All proceeds from The Lawyer Show 2011 will go towards enhancing Nightwood’s productions and training programs.

Jazzy Pop: Shihori - Soul Trip (Independent / 4 September 2020)

Jazzy Pop: Shihori - Soul Trip (Independent / 4 September 2020) New York City based singer and songwriter Shihori's new single Soul Trip is atmospheric and ambient. Interesting rhythms and interwoven melodic vocal lines showcase jazzy harmonic progressions in a slow groove mode.  As a songwriter, she uses electronic effects with impeccable musical taste. As a singer, her flexible vocals range from a sweet soprano to a strong mid-range. A veteran of the Japanese pop scene, Shihori moved to New York City in 2018, a move she talks about in a media release. "I was so surprised when I came to NY for the first time. Independent and strong women are respected and there are lots of different preferences in music and style. I thought, 'oh my God! This place really accepts uniqueness and freedom! I didn't know there is a place like this totally different world that allows you to be yourself. Everybody looks so different. So many races, colors, cultures, fashion, ideas...I am so
