Top queer artists and community leaders come together for an auction in support of Buddies in Bad Times Theatre

The most outrageous auction of the holiday season, ARTATTACK!, is back. Buddies’ signature fundraising event offers a remarkable line-up of contemporary art by Canada’s hottest queer artists, along with an exciting array of design, entertainment and travel packages – all in support of Buddies in Bad Times Theatre.

Celebrated comedian Gavin Crawford (This Hour Has 22 Minutes) hosts this year’s event, and will be joined on stage by a roster of queer celebrities including special guests Kristyn Wong-Tam, Sasha Von Bon Bon and Bruce LaBruce.

This year, MOCCA Artistic Director/Curator David Liss and the Powerplant’s Jon Davies join a dynamic group of cultural trailblazers to collect ARTATTACK!’s largest-ever collection of contemporary art. Liss and Davies are joined by fellow curators Keith Cole (performance artist), Srimoyee Mitra (Art Gallery of Winsor), Sophie Hackett (AGO), and Heather Keung (Reel Asian Film Festival).

On the auction block will be work by celebrated artists Maurice Vellekoop and Evergon, as well as Eldon Garnet (pictured), Pascal Paquette, Luke Painter, Alan Belcher, superstar art duo FASTWÜRMS and many more.

Also up for bids is an amazing array of design treasures and cultural excursions from the Design Exchange, Art Gallery of Ontario, National Arts Centre, a Benelli Quatro Nove Scooter, and a complete line-up of hand-crafted décor items from acclaimed local design studio MADE.
