TORONTO – Pizza Pizza proudly presents two of Toronto’s finest young vocalists at the Glenn Gould Studio on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 @ 7:30 pm. Holiday cheer will abound as traditional classic carols merge with original music in a new seasonal show with a twist, as shining stars MICHAEL CIUFO and ASHLEIGH SEMKIW share the iconic stage co-headlining a one-night-only performance. With new Xmas EP PERFECT GIFT in hand, Ciufo brings his signature classically-infused, cross-over style – an explosive musical medley set to dazzle audiences of all ages during this festive season – while songwriter, performance artist, and operatic soprano Semkiw brings her internationally acclaimed voice and collaborative style to a captivating program of celebrated holiday classics.



Both performers are already well-established vocalists and have enjoyed acclaim from colleagues, fans and media alike. This concert is an exclusive collaboration which will showcase the multiple facets of each artist’s diverse musicality, as both are professionally trained vocalists with stylistic urban-pop flare. Ciufo and Semkiw will perform both solo music from their respective repertoires and will enchant audiences with intimate duets. Included in the evening will be such holiday classics as “Little Drummer Boy” and a showstopper performance of “Oh Holy Night.”

Ciufo will be performing throughout Southern Ontario in December (tour dates listed below), and promoting his newly released holiday 4-track EP PERFECT GIFT, now available on iTunes and can be purchased directly at http://smarturl.it/mcPerfectGift. The EP, produced by Juno award-winning Michael Phillip Wojewoda (Barenaked Ladies, Great Big Sea), includes four delightful, passionate and unique takes on classic carols and originals. The title track “Perfect Gift” is an original and “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen,” “Oh Come All Ye Faithful” are the English traditional pieces plus he adds a beautiful rendition of an Italian traditional piece “Tu scendi dalle stelle,” (meaning “You Came Down from the Stars.”)
